Put A Smile On.

I had a perspective changing moment today.

I'm getting out of the car with my mom after saying how I was just sick and tired of being involved in a whole lot of drama that I shouldn't even be in when a little old man starts walking up my driveway.

"Hello ladies, how are you doing this fine day?" He said.

This old man began to talk to us, and as he starts talking, he brings out a little box full of kitchen knives. He starts giving us the door-to-door shpeil talking about these knives. As he finishes up telling us about the knives he states,

"I'm 79 years old, so my hearing's not going well, but I'm just selling these because I have to keep working. I can't get my retirement yet."

Needless to say, we bought one.
But, my mom and I both sat there...almost speechless really. And then I came to this realization.

How small are my problems compared to others, seriously? This man could barely walk or hear, and he was selling knives to scrape up some more money. To LIVE. I felt like such a little brat that I'd even been complaining about miniscule, stupid things.

So I made a resolution.
Everytime I feel like saying something or complaining about something now, I'm going to think of that old man. I'm going to grow up, stop whining and just THINK.

Think of how very blessed I am to live the life I do.
And put a smile on while I do it.

LIFE.

Life comes atcha fast.

So, by switching to Allstate, you can apply for colleges, get your acceptance letters, go on dates, hang out with your best friends, go to school and go to work all while having the time of your life in your one and only senior year. Also by switching, you can realize who will stay and who will go, what your passion is, when you decide to grow up, you can define yourself and smile. All the time. You can have a BLAST, and you can make life everything that it can be all right now. For now. For later. For always.

Sorry Allstate, there's just some aspects of life you can't cover.

I Have A Blog? Weird.

You probably can't tell, seeing as I post on it sooooooooooooooooooo much.

The last three weeks have been crazy busy, but I've felt like I've gotten a ton accomplished.
Homecoming? Check.
Tennis Season? Check.
Working suuuuper hard in all my classes? CHECK. GAH.
Getting a Presidential scholarship to USU? CHECK. :) :)
And soooooo much more.

Let me expand. Ha.

Homecoming was soooooo fun. I got to hang out with a lot of my friends, and I had a good time. All of us went CRAZY at the dance, jumping and dancing along to songs like Super Bass and Dynamite. It was super fun. The funniest part? As we're at dinner at Mimi's Cafe, in walks one of the Viewmont kids named Jon. When I saw him, it clicked that he was in Bronson's group. And Sam's group. And Jackson's. And everyone elses. I freaked out, in a good way. I came to the realization that I miss them. These kids that were once my best friends, I hardly even speak to anymore. And when I do, it's different. It's funny how things change. :/ But, on a happier note, the rest of Homecoming was great.

Tennis, where to even begin?! Ever since the beginning of the season, I've gained such an appreciation for hard work throughout it. I seriously didn't even think I was playing this year. When I made 3rd singles, I was shocked. When I was able to go undefeated, I was even more shocked. When I won region? I couldn't even speak. It was such a cool experience to show me that if I want something bad enough, I can get it, just as long as I work for it. I learned so much about me and every other girl on the team (who are the BEST) through this season. I'm seriously gonna miss tennis. It's been such a part of my life for so long, it's gonna be weird without it. Thankfully, USU has INTRAMURAL TENNIS. :) :) :) YES.

USU. I'm sooooooooooooo pumped. Ever since Ky talked to me about the Ambassador Program and how fun it is, I've wanted to go up to Utah State because it sounds like such a great environment. Everyone I've talked to has a BLAST up there, so I had figured I'd apply. I went to the open house after I applied and they told me I could get a Presidential Scholarship. It was AWESOME. It feels good to know that all the nights staying up doing homework ENDLESSLY and studying like none other throughout all of school is finally paying off.

Those are just three of the biggest things right now, but there has been so much fun, happy, silly, hard, sad, great and funny things for the past little while. I'll post pictures eventually, but I'll admit I haven't been as religious taking them as I should. Now that everything's slowing down, I think I'll be able to catch up.

Maybe, just maybe. :)

The Other Part of My Life

It's taking over, but I love every waking SECOND of it.

TENNIS :) :)
These are pictures from the trip this last weekend to St. George. Our team took first (!!!!!) and we had a BLAST. I love these girls with all my heart. We have fun. :)

I know, I know...

I'm an awful blogger when times get busy. So I'm going to make up for it by posting the pictures all in two parts. Life, and Tennis. So here's just some good old LIFE for ya.

9.3.11

Tonight was just another night in paradise.

Just kidding. I really do LOVE my job. I work with the sweetest people and guaranteed something happens everytime that I will laugh about for at least a week. Like the cutest kid came in and started pushing the swinging door that leads to behind the counter and having it come back and hit him. There are tons of cute kids and nice people that come in, which makes a job fun.

I also went to the Bountiful temple with my dad, brother and sister today. I wish I had gotten a picture of that. I love the temple so much. I cannot WAIT until the day where I can get married there. I love every aspect of it, and it made it better that my family was there! Gotta love Saturdays.

The END. :)

9.2.11

Today was PHINEAS AND FERB DAY. Complete with shirts, band aids, and 4 (5?) enthusiastic fans. I just love my friends. Unfortunately, we then went to lunch and got Dr. Pepper spilled all over the shirts...and the backpacks...and maybe some in Randy's car..which then resulted in everyone laughing so hard they were choking....but it was AWESOME.

Today was also just another people watching day. I. Love. This. Kid. Tanner is probably the greatest people watcher ever...even in his woman glasses.

The people we were watching finally noticed today...I think the glasses might have given it away...and they think we're creeps. Good thing that they're sophomores, so they have much to learn about the ways of dear old DAVIS HIGH.
